Gliffy.com/ My Dream Kitchen

My third and final emerging technology of choice was Gliffy.com. I was not sure what I was going to do when I got there because there was so many choices. Gliffy allows you to communicate with others visually. You can can chose from flow charts, organizational charts, floor plans, network diagrams, just to name a few. You could use this in a number of different settings. I know recently I have seen apartments with these types of floor plans. A teacher could use these types of diagrams in there class several different ways. They could create a seating chart, grading chart, and assignments. I really liked learning how to use this technology. It was very easy. I could see Gliffy helping me as a teacher and in my personal life. Gliffy is pretty self explanatory. The only thing I would change is more options. I wanted to add other appliances to my kitchen and maybe a few more colors. Log in was simple. When I tried to save my work, it then prompted me to open a secure free account. I like the site and can see myself hanging around for awhile.

Photo Share: Cairens First Hair Cut

I choose to review Picture Trail with is a new emerging technology. Picture Trail is a fun and interesting way to manage your photos. You can choose backgrounds, animation and a lot more. Its very very easy to use. This was my first time. I normally use Target.com to uplaod and manage my photos but this is a lot more exciting. I just simply chose some cute photos of my new getting his first hair cut, uploaded them and them proceeded to select my back ground and animation. In the top right corner you will see a tab for Bling. Here tou can add your animation, borders, backgrounds and more. When I finished designing my pictures, I choose how I wanted to share them. They have lots of options to choose from like facebook, myspace blogger or you can even just cut and paste the link. Overall, this was a fun new technology and I would reccommend sharing it with others. There isn't even a fee. I also liked that you could even make prints of your photos.

RSS Feed

Once again this was my first time trying RSS Feed. It was very simple to use but many of my favorite sites did not have RSS Feed capability. All of the sites I chose I did so because I had an interest in them. I will definitely keep and read them all. So far the information that they are giving is beneficial and makes me want to read more. I have now made google my home page so that I can have access to these sites at all times. The only other site I am looking to add is something related to the news. I am enjoying all the new (to me) technology.

My Podcasting Experience

The technology that I am exploring is Podcasting through Podomatic.com. Podcasting is an opportunity to share your opinions, talents and so much more with others through the Internet. I do not have any experience with podcasting, so I found it to be very difficult to use. After hours of trying it finally started to make some since. I struggled the most with trying to use Audacity. There was a lot to learn. I then struggled with uploading it to Podomatic.com because it was not in the right format. I actually found uploading my podcast to my Blog fairly easy. I maybe able to use this in the future in other classes. I could also use a podcast as a way to communicate with the parents of my children. I can keep them updated with whats going on in the classroom. One important tip I have is don't wait till the last minute. It took me a lot longer then I thought. Also be very patient. You will make a lot of mistakes before you get it right.
